DAVID HOCKNEY

CENTRE GEORGES POMPIDOU

This retrospective of the work of the painter opens as the artist celebrates his 80th birthday. With more than 160 paintings, photographs, engravings, installations of videos, drawings and works, including the most famous paintings of the artist.
It is a very complete panorama, even more than that of the TATE MODERN in LONDON a few months ago. In particular, the exhibition explores the artist's interest in technical tools for the production and modern reproduction of images: rather than contrasting painting and photography, Hockney has sought all his life to bring them closer together 'a story.

CLÉMENT COGITORE

BAL

LE BAL and ADAGP awarded the first edition of the BAL of young creation to Clément Cogitore for his project Braguino, a photographic and film journey in search of an "impossible community", reclusive in the heart of the forest Siberia.

Braguino is the name of a small village in Siberia, where today two families from a community of orthodox Old Believers are living in autarky, who refuse the authority of the State and the Church. Clement Cogitore went to meet them, in search of this "impossible community" and recluse.
Immersed in an installation conceived as a photographic and filmic forest, the spectator will be invited to "experience an experience of the sensation, a crossing of a world where the landscape, the plant, the human and the animal cohabit in a chaotic ensemble , Brutal, free and luminous "(Clément Cogitore).

FRESQUES DU STREET ART

LIBRAIRIE GOURMANDE

Street Art is a movement that circulates and settles in cities from New York to China via Northern Europe and of course Paris. Ernest Pignon Ernest marked his drawings and photos the streets of Naples, JR the containers of Le Havre. Every day new street artists make their appearance in the world and Parisian artistic landscape.
It is through the streets and walls of the 13th that men have marked their presence by creating giant frescos. It's a one hour ride.

COLLECTION DE MARIN KARMITZ

LA MAISON ROUGE - FONDATION ANTOINE DE GALBERT

The Red House is continuing its series of exhibitions devoted to private collections. It is Martin Karmitz's turn to unveil for the first time an important collection of his collection, nearly 300 works that question our way of being in the world.
This collection, patiently realized for about thirty years, is the latest production and production of this man better known for the films he helped to bring into the world and for the MK2 cinemas that transformed the districts of Paris where They have become established.
The exhibition will be a scenario that will mix several stories. Like any collection, this one forms a hollow self-portrait of the collector. The works will also evoke an era (the XXth and its tragedies), places (from Europe to the United States) through various mediums: video, photography, painting, drawing, sculpture and several large installations (Annette Messager, Christian Boltanski, Abbas Kiarostami, Chris Marker) where black and white dominates.

CARTE BLANCHE À CAMILLE HENROT

PALAIS DE TOKYO

The artist develops a varied practice that combines film, drawing and sculpture.

Drawing inspiration and subjects into everyday life and literature, mythology, anthropology, but also evolutionary biology or the history of religions, the work of Camille Henrot reconsiders with great acuteness the typologies of objects and Established thought systems.

LA FOLIE EN TÊTE

MUSÉE VICTOR HUGO

La Folie en tête (working title) wishes to continue exploring these extensions of the artistic field which plunge their roots in the nineteenth century.Candestines, fragile, made on the walls of the asylum or random materials recovered in secret , The works of the internees gradually attracted the attention of the psychiatrists who were their first collectors, the first "critics" and who, in the archeological sense of the word, were the true inventors of "the art of the fools." If the imagery of madness has often been exploited - as were the patients in the spectacle of their troubles - the exhibition intends to place in its heart, the sick, as artists.
A tribute to the artists, but also a tribute to the psychiatrists, the exhibition, looking for the oldest works, will organize its journey through four collections that the museum has requested: the Collection of the Crichton Royal Hospital, the Collection of Dr. Auguste Marie Walter Morgenthaler and the Prinzhorn Collection
